Water blocking yarn is a high-tech water blocking product made mainly from polyester industrial filament compounded with cross-linked polyacrylic intumescent to restrict the entry of water into the interior of optic cable or cable. Water blocking yarn can be widely used in various processing layers inside the optical cable and cable, and plays the role of bundling, tightening and water blocking.

Water blocking yarn is a water-swelling yarn with low price. When used in optical cable, they are easy to splice and eliminate the need for cleaning grease in optical fiber splices.

The mechanism of the water blocking yarn is that when the water penetrating into the cable and contact with the water-absorbing resin in the water blocking yarn, the water-absorbing resin rapidly absorbs water and swells, filling the gap between the cable and the optical cable, thus preventing further longitudinal and radial flow of water in the cable or optical cable to achieve the purpose of water blocking.

The rolled water blocking yarn are wrapped in plastic bags and vacuum. Several rolls of water blocking yarns are packed into moisture-proof plastic bags, and then concentrated into the carton. The water blocking yarn is placed vertically in the carton, and the outer end of the yarn is firmly pasted. Several boxes of water blocking yarn are fixed on the wooden pallet, and the outside is wrapped with wrapping film.

1) The product shall be kept in a clean, dry and ventilated warehouse.
2) The product should not be stacked together with flammable products or strong oxidizing agents and should not be close to fire sources.
3) The product should avoid direct sunlight and rain.
4) The product should be packed completely to avoid moisture and pollution.
5) The product shall be protected from heavy pressure and other mechanical damage during storage.
6) The storage period of the product at ordinary temperature is 6 months from the date of production. More than 6 months storage period, the product should be re-examined and only used after passing the inspection.
